Appealing nose. Well balanced, plum, ripe blue fruits. This 82 is a round, subtle, fully integrated wine. This wine should be drunk, aromatics are beginning to fade.

This bottle, ex-chateau, is just a lovely, beguiling example of the 1982 Léoville Poyferré, still in full possession of powdery, naturally sweet blueberry and raspberry that resonate on the palate. Alongside leather and fresh cedar, this is a complete, clean, classic Poyferré with just the right balance of decadence and elegance that makes the 1982 vintage so lovable.

final bottle and I would say age caught up and won....still a pleasant drink but not necessarily special or thrilling like it was a decade ago. Shame on me for dilly-dallying. Fruit has faded and wine is less exciting. Hopefully lesson learned
