Amazing. I forgot I had this in my cellar and opened it only to see how far gone it was. Surprisingly, it was really very good. Tannens had softened beautifully and it had a wonderful smooth finish, just enough fruit. Next to it I noticed I have the 2003 and 2004 as well. Hope this was not just a lucky accident.

Fruit day - fair bit of sediment - decanted off it... orange coloured rim with garnet core. Notes of lilac, orange blossom, raw beef, cedar, smoke and tar on the nose - layered, complex and impressive! Medium bodied with dark plum and black currant on the palate with still some ripe fine tannins showing. This is a gorgeous wine for a Bordeaux lover. The finish is long with the black currant and now some spice (nutmeg?) showing. Not tired in the remotest sense - if anything, in its prime!

I probably should have drank this last year. Still had a dark color. Nose was tight although had a hint of cherry and spice , almost Zinfandelish. Muted Jammu fruit on the palate, with no tannins.

Last wine of the evening. Splash decant, drank over two hours.
Nose of sweet red fruits, earth, orange zest. Palate is sweet(er) red fruits, cherry, plum, sandalwood. Medium weight, mouth-feel and finish.
Past its prime but still enjoyable. Last bottle from this stash. Justin drink better 3-5 years from release.
