  • Really a nice wine. Baking spice, coffee, and a touch of pine on the nose. Really well balanced tanins on the palate with dark fruits, charcoal, and coffee notes on the palate. A bit short on the finish though. A great buy though.

  • Very good. Tannins have blended in over the past year. Nice fruit and spice, well-balanced.

  • I had the 04 horse heaven hills red blend & it took 3hrs 2 come 2gether 4 me. We popped & poured & it ws very approachable! Love its smooth elegance! Reminded me of cadance. I dig this wine as it is so food friendly!

  • Bought from the winery at $30 last year (prices are the same for the 05' vintage). Overall, very happy with this purchase. Drank over three days and was the best on day three (just corked and put in the fridge). Dark fruits, violet and pencil lead on the nose, with a higher-toned blackberry fruit taste followed by a 30 second finish. It seems like the helpers to great winemakers (such as Ross Mickel to Bob Betz, and here, Time Sorensen to Ben Smith) are making great wines at reasonable prices. I am very happy that there are wines released at this price, as I have seen wines at less than 1/2 the quality I am getting here hitting the market with their first vintage at $40, $50 and sometimes $60. Great job Tim - keep it up!
