A pre-50 pre Birthday Celebration; 6/9/2023-6/11/2023 (Around Zurich Area): Sourced from the impeccable cellar of Sonne Seuzach , Switzerland . Top shoulder level and with fully wet but solid cork. Where does one begin to describe this and even more how does one rate it. Dark in colour and shines through the early century whiter than normal bottle with all the hand made flaws ( the bottle is itself a story) . Rich but with impressive acidity, rich apricot, honey. An exceptional experience and albeit one can argue about the wine the experience and the emotion it invokes can only be described as perfect. 100
The 1929 vintage was the last vintage of the vertical (2019, 2017, 2015, 2009, 2007, 2001, 1993, 1989, 1985 1971, 1959 and 1955 vintages) we did of chateau d'yquem. We tasted the 1929 blind, magic.

Mahogany in color, the nose showed off its caramel, butterscotch, orange rind, cooked apricot, spice and cocoa dusted orange tinted, tropical fruit character with ease. The wine still had viscosity and sweetness. I am not sure this was a perfect bottle as the color seemed a bit too dark. I imagine a better stored bottle would be off the charts!

Transcendent. This was almost black, with the most amazing nose I have ever encountered. Despite the colour, the nose and palate were fresh with a complexity of flavours and a length you could only marvel at.

Dark mahogany in color, low fill and crumbling label would make anyone think it was well past prime. However aromas of sweet molasses and orange citrus immediately changed everyone's mind. One sip of this massively rich sweet lush elixir with burnt caramel and citric acid brightness made little doubt this was easily among the wines of this special night.
