Intriguing, pulsating honeyish but not overtly rich, oxidized, or overripe nose of tarragon, black pepper, and rich cream. Weighty palate full of fleshy glycerine but more impressive than heavy in a true sense. Big finish matches the rest of this wine's character, which is all about (out)size booming force. All the oomph seems to be carrying this wine along in the aging process just fine, however.
Intense and rich. Lovely fruit though less intense than on purchase in 2003. Rich honey notes on palate. Toastiness is finally showing through as promised by the producer. Excellent wine. Think it was a good time to drink the 98 as the fruit seemed to be fading a bit.
