This was surprisingly good. I had it in my mind that I wasn't going to like it and I did. Pleasant and simple. Good fruit tending to red fruits and moderate, but not unpleasant acidity.

Dry, astringent tannins overwhelm at first. But there is an underlying sweetness that combines with acid backbone to bring this essentially herbal wine into balance. Slight boysenberry fruit character, with apple notes, tobacco, herbs and saw dust. Palate green, nose floral. A surprisingly complex wine for $12. Salty, acidic food a must to bring out the sweetness.

Plums, herbs and olives combine with stony minerals and dry tannins in a medium bodied wine that is both very good and very interesting.
