Exceptionally good and still vigor and life in the bottle. Fully integrated oak, smooth with just a bit of volatile acid at the back end of the palate. Definitely in the latter part of its drinking window. Nose had dark chocolate and leather. Full bodied with a blueberry and raisin palate with cigar box finish. Long, supple finish. Very nicely aged tavola vino.
Weak, no body and finish. Can't imagine that this will get better with age. Drank half the bottle and moved on something better. Still waiting to decide what to do with the rest, probably headed down the drain.
This is one of my favorite wines to buy at Trader Joe's. Whenever I'm there, I buy three or four bottles to have on hand as "daily drinking wine". It's not going to blow your mind, but it's cheap and reliable. It reminds me of the table wines served in Europe in the small "juice" glasses we use in the US. I think it only adds to the charm. Salud!
