Smoked meats with Jason: Dark, inky dark fruit - so international in style that I would have difficulty in placing this as a northern Rhone. At a similar stage to young Bordeaux where it is tough to drink.

Stunningly good. Impenetrable purple black, inky. Only just becoming open for access. Decanted an hour. Needed protein. Thick wonderful and deliciously powerful in an engaging way.

Gave this a 2h decant which worked well. Polished, dense and bursting with energy showing fruit of brambleberry and dark cherry and fine layers of smoke. Plenty of smoked meat and bacon fat going around as well. Vibrant and electric acidity with lots of tension. Quite tangible tannins still. A great Landonne where the drinking window is just starting to crack open, but best kept stored away another 5+ years.

What a disappointment!!!! I bought this bottle on line a few years ago from “Vins et Milleésimes” near Paris (extremely reliable and professional). I kept it preciously in optimal conditions in one of our Eurocvaves. I opened it and decanted it at least 5-6 hours before our dinner, and... although definitely not corked, it was flat, slightly musty, lifeless. What a shame!!!! But I guesss “shit happens” sometimes... C’est la vie! Fortunately, I have half a dozen Moulines waiting...

Dark, inky and painfully young. It just requires a lot of cellaring time. Maybe another 8-10 years before it becomes accessible.
