Nicely evolving 2005 Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Rouge ($45 in 2009). Light-mid ruby, amber edges, viscous; earthy, red fruit, cherries, cedar nose; low-mid acids; low-mid tannins; balanced; good depth of fruit; semi-long red fruit, earthy finish. w/pork tenderloin, risotto. 17-17.5/92-93.

Chalky, elegant, quite intense, but lighter on it's feet than previous. So much clear cut red fruit here, a precise linear style. Still young, but early drinking window has opened.
