Absolutely on point. Loaded with garrigue and roasted plum, hint of white pepper, fairly mid-weight for Pegau, reflective of the vintage, just LOADED with energy and a simmering intensity.

Tasted over 3 hrs -med dark red faint purple minimal clearing -moderately expressive sweet plum iodine faint mature note licorice -med acidity, med/med+ weight faded plum fruit spice cake molasses, sweet med/med- tannins and a touch of heat on the finish -still going strong with several more good years left, picking up some complexity over the past few years

Amazing. Tell-tale Pegau showing iron, oxblood, garrigue, sweet Grenache, La Crau speaking loudly here, a classic wine. Drinking a point, I think, shall se what goes on tomorrow. #Kandestederne

(PEGAU Cuvee Reservee) Pegau Dear Friends, After trying this wine for the 3rd time in bottle, I'm convinced it is as good as some of the storied vintages from Pegau over the last few decades - it has a suave quality that sets it apart from rougher vintages like 2005 or 2001 (both exceptional vintages, just different). The 2006 is a cerebral and very serious example that is not only compelling but a direct testament to the traditional winemaking of the region. As far as CdP is concerned, it doesn't get much better for the style (I believe the Reservee contains the Cuvee da Capo component in 2006 - there is no separate bottling, although Feraud could always change his mind): I know everyone is chasing the 2007, but that would be like ignoring the 1995 Leoville Las Cases because you want the 1996 - both have their moments ad the 2006 is far less expensive. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price directly from Avignon. 2006 Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee (rouge) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Rhone5470

Very good place right now. Little bit of funk to go with splendid balance and complexity. Well described below.
