Served blind, stood up for a week & double decanted, brought this, first time tasting a Soldera, off the bat smells like a high end Bordeaux with funk/musk but with time some thought a high end barolo but this was truly a chameleon, lots layers, complex, v elegant with beautiful tannins

No detailed notes taken. The palate showed very well, highly layered, intense, pure and elegant, and with a superb balance. On the nose, however, this always had a bit of aged soy sauce and oxidation notes, which never fully blew off. With a bit of air, it got better but the bouquet never came close to the sensational palate experience. 96pts for the palate alone… overall a bit lower.
Decanting: Not decanted, improved a bit with air. My advice would be to decant 1-2 hours at least.

Tasted at Nobelhart & Schmutzig, Berlin. Served in the dedicated Soldera glasses. First time diving into this and what a journey this was. First tons of smoke and mineral flavors with some oxidative notes of nuts. Then adding a medicinal touch. Ripe and intense red fruit. With time in the glass I also bumped into black truffles, a brighter red cherry type of fruit and espresso. Thick and structured palate, but with a satin texture and again varying aromas.

What a wonderful wine.
Funky nose. A bit musty. But underpinned by red fruits. A great mix of delicate Pinot, structured Bordeaux and tannic Barolo. Incredible

Very impressive but still very young and structured. Nevertheless, this is really quite pretty. Needs another 5-10.
