What a nose - tobacco, leather and blackcurrant fruit. Firm tannins and stewed fruit on the palate. Lots to enjoy but it does taste like it's drying out a bit.

Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with red plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, eucalyptus, cloves, cedar, leather, earth, tobacco and pencil. Pronounced taste of red plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, eucalyptus, cloves, cedar, leather, earth, tobacco and pencil. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Margaux that has matured beautifully. Drink now or over the next ten years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

Deep garnet red with leather-toned brim. Very pleasant, mature nose with notes of leather, underbrush and corints. Mouthfeel is fully mature with tannins totally integrated, with nice acidity, some fruit and notes of leather, underbrush and corints.
This is today fully mature and will not improve more, on the other hand it's in a nice spot and will most probably drink well for some three to five years more.

Noise of forest floor and mushrooms. Taste of limited, but still flavorful fruit of prune with soft tannins. Was worried I was too late on this one, but it was a delightful old margaux.

Fruit fading just a little, not as earthy as one might hope for, but still good enough for steak and mushrooms.
