  • Double blind tasting. Brief note. PnP. Nose and palate show a saline quality with bitter cherry, iron, and a woodsy lavender note. This was still very primary and needed more time than we had with it. Would've loved to have tasted this with an 8hr+ decant. Still primary to my palate based on this bottle.

  • funny, just reading my last note and i should have taken my own advice, this wine was similar but not as good, nose was light fruit and some sandalwood again, palate was overly acidic and drying, felt like the fruit was going / gone, probably best on night two (of three) but past prime i suspect (and maybe never had the goods to hold up to the acid -- funny for a 1990 wine

  • drank this over three days, was pretty closed the first two nights, on night three it opened up and came fwd, nose was cherries/grapes and sandalwood... awesome nose, palate was still a little more restrained with bitter and tart cherries and some dry tannins, wonder how this would taste in ten years, if it had been an '08 burg i would have said wait ten years to try next bottle but given 1990 i wonder whether the fruit is fading / has faded... with my one last bottle i will decant 5 or 6 hours to get as much as this wine can give

  • Popped and aerated in the glass for an hour. Lighter ruby color. Immediate nose of bing cherry, raspberry, stones, iodine, and violets. Lush red cherry and raspberry fruit on the palate with integrated mineral and oolong tea notes to add complexity. Ample and refreshing acidity, tannins subtle. Moderately long finish with waves of red raspberry fruit and a sheen of minerals. Last bottle of this and a good one.

  • second bottle of this wine which was flawed (first only slightly, this one more so), smelled corked, palate wasn't horrible when tried a bit over first 30 mins (but really disappointing given how awesome my '90 Lafon Santenots have been recently), gassed and into the fridge, nite two it was terrible, down the drain... have two more and am hoping i get at least one which is still alive
