Medium dark color. Clear ruby hue throughout. Musty oak with some faint gamey notes on the notes. Light bodied mouthfeel. Initially quite tight, thin, & tart on the palate. Improved a little with air & time. Bottle's second half showed some spice & game notes. But this one needs food...[14.3% a.b.v.; $13.00].

Took some time to open, but well worth the wait. Game on the nose with a smoke that seems to be from the meatiness(like the wafting of cooking on the BBQ). Deep Ruby color. Kind of think this is a bit of a hidden gem. Some subtle white pepper comes through. Raspberry fruit shows as does some blue. So hard to say if it should be drank now as it is so good, but I do see it getting even better. I will be on the look out for this as I picked this up recently for under $30.

My second of 2 bottles purchased. Smoke and grilled meats on the bouquet, faint hint of mint and mixed spice. A big boned wine, with a core of black raspberry and blueberry fruit. Seems a bit tamer than last night, when it seemed more rich in tone but showing with more acidity tonight and more even, too. Actually, I'd say this wine needs another couple years to let it settle out some of the acidic edges a bit more and let the fruit and acid be more as one. Concur with my last TN on this wine that there is some lavender-ish notes, too. Overall, this is pretty solid and leans right to the middle in terms of ripeness. Listed alcohol is 14.3% if you're interested.

Typical gamey syrah nose. Dark fruit flavor. Comes on rich but still not too sweet. Smokiness. Great texture. Finishes with a little too much vanilla.
