  • Opened this alongside a 2005 St Innocent Anden Vineyards. This was rough at open, but after decanting and resting for 30 minutes it came to life. A little past it’s prime, but still enjoyable. Color was a dark ruby. Rich on the pallets with faded complexity. A tinge of sour cherry, but a soft finish with what I would describe as a hint of smoked paprika. Definitely time to finish off this vintage if it’s in your cellar, IMO.

  • Much better that the first of my two bottles (picked up recently at auction). Fruit a bit muted, but some nice earthy and tea notes. Was hoping for better, but this was fine and an enjoyable drink. Left stoppered overnight, but this developed an oxidative quality and was less enjoyable.

  • 13.5% abv. 1215 cases produced. Recent auction purchase.
This bottle was not in great shape, I think, based on the two fairly recent previous notes. Cork came out in one piece with a "pop" and seemed like no leakage has occurred. Poured a glass and it was not pleasant smelling -- a little like puke. Carried through to the palate some as well. I've experienced this kind of smell before and usually air helps get rid of it, so I decanted and left for an hour or so. This did the trick, mostly, as the off-putting aroma was mostly gone. Still not a great nose, kind of dull and weedy. On the palate, this was not bad - more leaves, soil, underbrush than fruit - but not the experience I was hoping for. Still, this was drinkable, interesting, and enjoyable to a certain degree, so my wife and I did consume the entire bottle with dinner. Hoping for better with the second (and last bottle). If scoring, 85 - 87.

  • Almost opaque dark bricky ruby. Nose of dark berry, red plum, coarse violets, iodine, brier, piney earth. Layers of satisfying raspberry, brambles, iron particles, and deep dive dark plum on the palate. Still-vibrant acidity and still-firm tannin. Long finish of rich echoing berry, earth, iron, and grip, with just a touch of heat. Lovely.

  • This wa spectacular! Dark fruits, earth, lean, balanced, good grip, good depth, long finish, smooth, complex and seamless A great example of an Oregon pinot. Maybe a bit past its absolute prime, but drinking great. I wish all my wines were as good as this. Stored properly for the past 12+ years. 94+
