My first bottle of Novy Simpson. The wine shows a bouquet that suggests a whole cluster signature--some herbals, pepper and eucalyptus. I like the aromatics a lot, actually, better than the palate, as the aromas show a nice complexity. Color is medium dark but more red than black/opaque and it portends the palate. I like the palate less, which shows some sweet edges, gamy and smoky, with some cherry but lacks some of the complexity I would like to see. Kind of a juxtaposition between stems and sweet (don't think syrupy) fruit. Likely will let the other bottle rest to see if things meld together.
