  • The wine has a ruby colore. There are light sediments in the bottle. In the nose it smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis), high toast and black pepper. Also in the taste one can find the black pepper and blackberry. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture and finishes medium. It still has high acidity. A bit an unusual Barbaresco but very delicious

  • too expensive, I doubt if this will hold +10 years as indicated on the label on the bottle

  • Nose of black cherry, forest berries, cranberry, vanilla, a touch of raisin. On the palate it has sweet, rich black cherry/cranberry fruit, with a touch of prune juice, giving it a craisin juice vibe. Very primary and fruit oriented, lacking any floral or herbal notes. I'm left with impression of some RS, almost like sforzato. A nice rich fruity drink, but surprisingly unstructured, with low if reasonable acidity for the vintage. I can't see this having the structure to age more than a few years, and indeed on day two this is all cherry liquor and alcohol, really hot and unpleasant.
