Reignac Vertical; 2/7/2016-2/24/2016: From 375 ml. This has an intense, beefy nose of blood, iron, and cigarette butts, with a spicy green note. The palate is similarly dark and savory, with flavors of boudin noir and black coffee. A little rough around the edges still; there is enough tannic structure remaining here to keep this alive for another 3-5 years. My experience with this vintage has been inconsistent, but this was one of the better bottles. The final vintage in my Reignac vertical will be the 2005; notes forthcoming.

From 375ml, sweet cherries, tobacco, cellar dust, and oak are pleasant, but overall balance is leaning towards acidity, and I'm just not loving the texture. 88+ points. 12.5% alc

From .375, at peak, but can last 1-2 years. Brick red with lightening at edges. Mature bordeaux nose with truffles, cedar, and graphite. Medium bodied, balanced and smooth palate. Slightly short finish. Drink full bottles 2013-2017.

Last of the case of 24 375's This was a great adjunct/adder to a lot of evenings when another full bottle would have been too much. This is good enough, and full-bodied enough to follow most anything. It's not great, but very good, particularly for its humble pedigree. Fortunately, there is a case of '03 ready to follow. At seven bucks, how can you go wrong?

A bit on the decline but perfectly serviceable. Dusty red fruit with a bit of earthd and other tertiary elements. For $7 a 375, an excellent purchae.
