I was going to open a 2003 bottle but read some reviews and decided the 2004 probable ready now. So true. Very smooth tannins and still had gobs of fruit. Great complexity. Definitely drinking well right now so no need to hold'em much longer.

Nice oak and spice on the nose. Tastes of a simple Merlot. A little bitter finish, but none of the bell pepper found in some inexpensive WA merlots. Second night, becoming slightly sour, with a lot of tartrate remaining in the glass and the bottle. Definitely for drinking in the next year.

We drank this with friends on 1/20/08. It decanted about 30 minutes…it needed more. Deep Purple in color with thick heavy legs…strong dark fruit and spice on the nose. Both the dark fruit and spice flavors were strong on the palate. It was fairly smooth but the tannins did have a little bit of grip. A good wine but pretty unremarkable.

Great fruit smell right out of the bottle. After a short time decanting very smooth and didn't disappoint!

Deep dark berry fruit, spice and dusty tannins all beautifully integrated. Long finish. Prime time to drink this wine. A great Washington merlot.
