Double decanted. Rich exotic nose of banana, guava, other tropical fruits and vanilla and marzipan. Color is medium deep gold. This bottle seems more advanced than the last one. Unctuous on the palate with thick ripe (almost sweet) fruit, just this side of syrupy. Not sure what one would eat with this. Doesn't show the power and balance of the last bottle. After further chilling this shows less exotic character and perhaps better balance. However, upon further tasting this is not to my palate and went in the dump bucket - pity.

Pondering the latest Kistler offering so decided to see how this was doing at age 10. Doubled decanted based on my last experience with this wine. Medium deep gold. After initial decant outrageous nose of a melange of fruits: peach, quince, pear, papaya musk melon with tropical overtones and quite spicy. Intense and long on the palate with the low yield/ripe fruit intensity very characteristic of Kistler but this bottling is much better balanced between fruit and dry extract than others. Excellent showing so far; far superior to last bottle. Second tasting: nose has receded somewhat but much better balanced between mineral and fruit on the palate; not as exuberant but more classy.

Kleur: Medium diep goudgeel Aroma / bouquet: Rijp en rijk, venkel, vanille, steenfruit, tropisch fruit (ananas, banaan), yoghurt, vleugje kaneel. Smaak / Afdronk: Dik-sappige, romige wijn, weelderig, zachte zuurgraad, retronasale indrukken van venkel, tropisch fruit, gebrande nootjes. Afdronk: Indrukwekkend lang. Algemeen / potentieel: Parker noemt deze wijnen 'unmistakably Burgundian in their aromatics, textures, and flavor profiles'.

Finish: Impressive long General / potential:. Parker calls this wine "unmistakably Burgundian In Their aromatics, textures, and flavor profiles. For me, obviously Napa Chardonnay: thick, rich, fat and buttery, not the subtlety of Burgundy. But at least as tasty;-) 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Taste / Finish: 16 + General / potential: 8 = 91/100

Well over the top. Deep yellow colour. Slightly burned and oxidized. Should have been drunk a few years ago.
