Dark in color with no bricking. Integrated and harmonious with blueberry and dark fruit with subltle oak influences. This is really soft and approachable right now. Showed much better than an '05 Januik Syrah tried recently.

PnP consumed over 3 days - days 1 and 2 showing the best. Modern-style of Merlot with plenty of chocolatey cherry, toasty oak and mixed red floral accents. Good acidity buoys the fruit and tannins allowing for a mostly clean finish. Good but not great by any stretch. By day 3 this had begun to fall apart. 14,4% abv, drink thru 2014.

Pleasant, luscious, rich smoky and chocolaty oak with dark red fruit. Medium bodied and lush. The oak made it a bit heavy handed with twice baked potatoes, but it's a tasty, luscious wine on its own.

Okay, some bottle to bottle variation here. Drank this blind against a 2005 Lewis Merlot, and this wine tied it (2 votes to two) and I picked this wine as the richer and more expressive of the two. Very nice and soft raspberry, cassis, and hints of leather, mouthcoating tannin structure, and a vibrant vanilla oak finish. Soft throughout.

Decanted. Pretty nose of blueberry, black cherry and floral notes. Good fruit and spice on the palate. Shows restraint and balance.
