  • Had this at Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa. Was a bit apprehensive about ordering a 29 year old bottle of Gigondas, but it was a bargain at only $50 and potentially a good pairing with the Filet Mignon. Showed no signs of its age at all. Nice translucent crimson color, with no noticible bricking. Classic Rhone nose of plums, vanilla and spice. Very intense on the palate with a bracing acidity, but plenty of dark, tangy fruit to go along with it. Rock solid, yet very refined and elegant. Showed amazingly well for a wine its age.
