Decanted for 1 hour before having Ellen's Scampi. Drank beautifully with good bouquet, tart cherry flavor, and nice finish. At peak now. Didn't hold up the next night.

Figured I'd start working through my 00 Lemelsons. Bought this wine on a visit to the winery 4 years ago and it's been resting since. When I initially opened it, I thought the wine was pretty bland in the nose; fortunately, it needed just air to come around. As it evolved in the glass, the wine then showed a lot of new oak aromatics, which then lead after about 2 hours to a more balanced aromatic profile of mocha, dried cherry and red fruits. The palate, much like the nose, shos a juicy profile, akin to what reminds me of RRV fruit. The texture is creamy, with some nice integrated acidity, cola and red fruits. For a bottle less than 30 bucks (think about 25 at the time I bought it), very pleased with this one. Still have the Stermer, Reed and Reynolds and Jerome to get through. Onward!

Decanted briefly before dinner. Good weight and texture tart cherry flavor. Ellen thought it too tart.
