  Transferred from tasting glass into Zalto during Ficofi dinner and that made a big difference. The nose open and quite true to the vintage with a little stemminess but also the RC typical chemical box / hoisin aromas. I was most impressed by the length and intensity, not fruit driven but beautifully complex aromas.

  This was disappointing from the start to finish of dinner. Bettered tonight by the 05 la tache and the 00 RSV. Muted nose that never really opened up. I tasted tobacco and cedar. Quite flat throughout. We were hoping it may come out of its shell by the end of the evening but never did. I heard there were better bottles.

  Any chance to have a bottle of Romanée-Conti is special! This bottle had an intense nose with almost a tobacco, pickled fruit and cedar note to it, also classic hoisin and spice. Lovely integration of fruit, perfect balance and purity here. Pleasing dimension despite it being only a middle weight contender. (HC NY)

  Spectacular wine. Warm, medium red color with slight browning at the edges. Incredible nose of flowers, earth and spice. Silk on the palate...spices and red fruit...beautiful with a minute-long finish. Is this worth several thousand dollars? Probably not on a purely qualitative basis. But there is no mistaking it...this is a beautifully made wine...elegant in the extreme, with beautiful complexity. I may never have another...but this was magic.
