13.5% alcohol. Aging with nothing but grace. Still a lovely light cherry color, showing some hints of bricking at the rim of the glass. This is near perfect right now. Gorgeous nose of red cherry, spice, mushroom, and a bit of earth. In the mouth, full of vibrant cherry fruit, coupled with layers of earth, mushroom, and baking spice. There's a floral element permeating the background of it all. Long finish. Just fantastic. A

After a few days of drinking Petite Sirahs and Zins.....I wanted something translucently crunchy and red berry.....was going to pop an Amoureuses from Bertheau....but decided on this guy! Got what I wanted! My last bottle of 4....tons of sediment making for a rustic and cloudy drink, which I think is fun.....TARTED up fruit of raspberry, cherry, strawberry, rhubarb......really tart and refreshingly alive....goes well with the earth tones of tilled strawberry field, tomato leaf, sous bois.....little prickly with bramble raspberry bush....gorgeous potpourri florals, smoked stem spice.....all well integrated to a well balanced and polished mouthful of tastiness! Even though I didn't choose the Amoureuses....I might have gotten the best of both worlds here! Fantastic!

Took to Bill's lunch. Effusive nose made great 1st impression. Unexpectedly light taupe color for vintage/vineyard, but great flavor on the palate of cherry, tomato and a bit of sea salt. Tasted more like Sonoma Coast than Russian River. Still, excellent.

The usual look and nose of a Swan PN. Surprisingly olive-heavy on the palate, but a lengthy finish adds to the luster. Otherwise balanced and a fine bottle.

The Vineyard Lunch Gang Visits Saralee's + 97 Pentagon & 02 Trenton: Grapefruit acid on the nose. A juicy wine. Still very fresh. The acidity is a little aggressive. Dramatically different than the 06, 07, & 08. Much lighter.
