in magnum. color tending to slight tawny at the rim now. Reductive bouquet upon opening taking 20-30 minutes to blow off, then sweet aromatics of black cherry and some earthiness. Soft and smooth on the palate with good acidity that dominated upon opening, but after 30-45 minutes the fruit burst forth putting the acidity in the background and the wine in a beautiful balance. Enjoyed this with friends at Circa 1886 in Charleston.

slightly tawny in color, sweet scents of sour cherries and raspberries and some spice, the wine was a bit of a lightweight with soft tannins, yet delicious, just not deep and profound.

Meaty aromas and slightly alcoholic once opened, but after an hour there are mineral hints and redcurrant notes. On the palate, low presence of tannins, spicy notes mixed with redcurrant and strawberry. Smooth on the throat, long lasting and creamy finish with a mineral background. A solid Burgundy wine which evolves nicely in the glass, not as elegant as other recently tasted, but very subtle that lets you appreciate every detail of the wine.

Dark color. Slightly roasted/coffee aspect to the aroma. Tannins have calmed down considerably, and the levels of extraction and ripeness, which seemed over the top a few years ago, are now more or less in balance with the fruit and acid.
