Awesome old school Burgundy nose with sweet, earthy, smoky, funky fruit. Palate is a little more subdued and constricted by its structure, but you get some of those fun, mature Burg notes of the nose. At or just past peak.

Monday Night Football and Grand Cru (Chicago, IL): Somewhat rustic in character, but displaying more black fruit than I would have expected at this point (for the vintage and producer). Almost a little sweet; it's impressive how much fruit has been left here. The palate shows some more of the rustic edge; it's fairly earthy with some iron notes, and while there are still plenty of tannins here, they're resolved enough for drinking now.

'Old School' Faiveley in every way. Barely evolved, deep, structured and tight. There's a hint of meat and some dark fruits. It is very savoury with a distinct earthiness. Tannins still clamp down on the fruit a bit and it is super-dense, chewy and long. Needs another decade or two.

Started incredibly strong but fruit faded too quickly. Loved it but drink fast
