Outstanding - started fresh and vibrant, developing over 2.5 hours a medley of aromas and flavors that just kept getting better. Easily the best bottle of this vintage I've had, probably at peak but well stored bottles s/b great for another 5-10 years IMO.

Rich golden color. Nose slightly oxidative, raisins and baked soft fruits, opened up more in the glass. Fresh on the tongue, mid palate finish, lingering. Enjoyable and lovely example of an aged Chardonnay.

Out of magnum. Really, really outstanding. Unbelievable batard like structure and flavor profile. Ripe, but not flabby, white peach, caramel, butterscotch, with great acidity and length. Long, round and opulent. A touch of vanilla, pear and citrus, no lemon, but no mango, fruit is nice, but subtle and in the background. Not trace of age, everyone pegged it for french. Most underrated chard I have ever had Sorry to have consumed this. A truly special bottle. Compares favorably to the ambassador vineyard, served to wine snobs and blew them away.

Very deep, rich, golden color. Hints of apple and flint in the nose. Really rich and thick, in the mouth, coating the tongue like it was honey. Definite mineral quality going on here, rounded out with very ripe fruits (apples and pears and maybe even some peach). Drank wonderfully. I'm sorry it was the last bottle.

I was actually a bit disappointed in this wine this time around. It still has that deep golden color, but not much of a nose going on here this time. Really a very luscious mouth feel, but the flavors, including the toasty oak, were all pretty well restrained. There's still a hint of apple, straw, and maybe even a bit of flint going on. However, I'm thinking this wine is maybe closed down right now (certainly not flawed!) and is going to need to be allowed to sleep for a while before opening back up.
