This bottle is better than when I last tasted it in 2016. It shows sweet cherry and blossoms on the nose, sweet cherry and beetroot on the palate. It does not have any of the tart or thin qualities others have commented on. But it definitely does NOT have any Vosne qualities either. It tastes like a very solid California pinot.

Disappointing. 13% alcohol probably tells you everything you need to know. A good backbone but not ripe enough to put flesh on the bones. It’s what Burgundy can be but you don’t want to pay good money for. Austere, lacks femininity, flesh, joy. Not even wonderful Chinese roast duck could coax it alive. At least I only had the one bottle...

An interesting wine... initial vegetal quality blew off in about 10 minutes... then by 30 minutes... opened up to show strawberry and bright red fruit, beetroot, and pleasant mid-palate spice/cranberry. I would be hard pressed to call it Vosne-- no obvious exotic spice quality.

(Potel Nicolas Vosne-Romanée Les Malconsorts) The nose is a little fatter than the Damodes; some spice but overall remains quite reserved. Wide impression over the tongue, very well packaged tannin and reasonable length - but overall a little too tight so say great or not…

A Vosne-Romanée Night: Peculiar aniseed/vegetal nose, not unpleasant. Develops somewhat in the glass, but it is merely a thin and astringent wine.
