Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 85 points

  • Blackberry and pepper nose along with a healthy dose of oak. The tannins are relaxed but still present, high intensity black berry fruit palate, oak. It's pretty crazy how hard and fast the alcoholic zing takes over, almost creeping into the mid-palate experience. The zing is enough that you don't taste much on the finish. The mouthfeel here is very smooth. Sad, because the fruit here early on is rich and lush, if this had a decent finish this would be a nice wine. My palate is usually not as sensitive to alcohol but this wine has to much bite on the finish. Day 2: Smoother transitions, some new blue fruits showing now along with the blackberries. Less alcoholic zing but it's still there. Upgraded to 85 points, give this some air or decant, my note from yesterday was a pop and pour.
