Amazing fruit, color, and flavor even after 12 years. This is a food wine, great with grilled cheese and salad, I can only imagine how great it would be with a nice Filet Mignon. Wish I had another bottle! Still has a nice acidic balance and tannic structure. I'm sure it would lay down for many years to come.

Drank over two days. A touch of medicinal/alcoholic heat, both on nose and palate, with noticeable acid, smooth tannins, and focused dry cherry fruit. Also picked up notes of walnut and anise. Not much change on day two. Definitely a food wine, and one that might benefit from a little time to smooth out some rough edges.

Needs time to open up, it is a bit tannic and closed at first. After about an hour of decanting , the wine opened up, the perception of the tannins fell away. There were predominant flavors of cherry. Best with food, not by itself.

Fruit has faded so now oak, tannin and acid dominate.

Eucalyptus and cherry. Thin on palate, a little tired. Cherry focus. Short
