some strawberries and cherries. fruit seems lighter than last bottle. but big black pepper and cedar spice folowed by smooth tannins. definitely needs a minute to or 15 to open up after popping, even after poured through the Nuance Wine Finer. massive QPR at under $9.

You would never know how great a steal this Ribera is when you taste it. under $9? ridiculous. lots of ripe fruit forward with unsweet strawberries and plums, maybe blackberrie (?). nice balance of acidity and some lively tannins on the back end. It really played well off the lightly spicy food when i had it with that, too. If this is available near you, buy it early and often. a great everyday red.

Opened tonight and poured with homemade pizza. Nice color, lovely aroma - cherry, some plums, a bit of wood. Taste was nice- not overly complex but very pleasant and complemented the tomato sauce of the pizza - as well as the caramelized onions, oregano etc - very nicely for my taste. The wood (oak) was not overbearing and added a nice taste to give a bit more complexity. I liked this and would buy it again.

Somewhat alcoholic before breathing. Ruby red. Currant and blackberry, moderate oak. Excellent with red meat.
