  • Hazy, medium dark color, clearing rim that is bricking. On the nose somewhat muted, very tertiary aromas of teas, cola... some cherry fruit in there that is just a bit muddled, lots of wet earth... on the palate quite nice overall with firm and smooth acidity, a classic fleshy Pinot midpalate, a very smooth transition into a completely integrated, moderate tannin finish of moderate length... low to moderate alcohol. A very well balanced wine with good length and intensity, very good complexity. Very nice finesse and texturally excellent... seems very Oregon to me. The wine would easily be outstanding if it had better clarity of flavor... it's greatest strength is its texture which is outstanding, especially for a new world wine. Pretty clearly at the end of its evolution... drink them now.

  • very similar to last bottle except I would say evolution happened in first couple of hours opposed to a day...initially less interesting but pretty quickly gained size and complexity...pretty darn good mouthfeel and earthy secondary flavors.

  • good not great first night...bit thin, no real presence or complexity to the wine. Second night, bit more secondary flavors picking through...wine actually seemed to gain a bit in size.

  • half the bottle poured into decanter 45 min before starting to consume. on opening great nose of earth and fruit...iniitial taste was pretty consistent. when consumed with the meal appeared to give way and became thin much lighter than on initial inspection. hopefully it is better on day 2
