Still needs time. Tannins are not as rounded as I expected, but not harsh. Flavors should improve as they keep evolving. Hold another 4-5 years and try again.

On first opening the smells were of dark berries and earth followed by a complex palate with relatively smooth tannins. Had a bit of a rubber hose smell to it initially.
Within an hour it shut down and all I saw was harsh tannins. Second day was the same with even harsher tannins. Given the favorable reviews below, I don’t get this wine apparently.
Caveat: I’m not very experienced with barolo but am mapping from Bordeaux experience.

No formal note - but drinking well now. Took an hour or so to get rolling but great after. Youthful but fun to drink - many years ahead for this one. Tannins still pretty big but enjoyable

black leather, black cherry, potpourri, thyme & sage; better after 3 hours and drinking just as well on day 2, this wine is still youthful and has many years ahead of it; drinking fine (though definitely needs a hearty dinner pairing) but best to wait

Nose of red flowers, sweet red cherry and a hint of vanilla. Definitively red fruit palate, cloying tannins, but the fruit holds up, bright red raspberry, cherry cola and a tinge of green herbs. Surprised how good this was.....
