Piper Heidsieck Rare Tasting (La Fete): Information from merchant, 75% C, 25% PN, 9.5g/l, from a magnum, lovely freshness despite the age, aggressive moose, dense good weight, orange peel, citrus, structured finish, lots going on in the palate adding to the complexity. Lovely

Rich mature bottle of Rare 1999. I quite enjoyed it!
Scent of caramel candied apples, slight funk from the cork I believe but, not corked. ultra fine mousse with a sweet creamy finish. May not be totally balanced at this age. The sweetness/fruit has control and the lagging acidity shows timidly on the reasonably extended finish.

La Fete: Gala Dinner (Chelsea Piers: Pier 60): In the early bottle barrage which meant I only got a few quick sips before I needed the glass again. From a mag. Good, but still kindof young. Tart.

Weekend in Westport; 8/25/2021-8/29/2021 (Westport, CT): From a magnum. Drank side by side with an '88 and it was interesting to see what the extra 11 years (and smaller wine bottle) does. This was very young tasting. Bright and fresh. A bit more one dimensional still, but it has room to grow into itself.
