I really enjoyed this. Expressive wine. Aromatic nose of cherry and forest floor. Palate showed clean red fruits and goes into the finish with a little zip that really cleans the palate. Finish is long but a bit simple, offering repeating cherry notes and a little mineral. Seems to be drinking really well now.
More than three years on since the last sampling; I cannot believe that it was better than this before. A pity then that this is the last of the '07. A tricky vintage for many but I think Todd did an excellent job with this. Clear garnet, perfumed aroma, floral notes and candy, bright tart cherries, smoothly textured. Uncomplicated but nicely balanced.
When I first popped this I actually just thought it was the WV bottling. Oops. Turns out it was a pretty good time to open the Ana so no harm no foul. Typical 07. Refreshing to drink. Spice and cherry fruit. High acidity. Acid haters should flee. Bright and juicy. The stems seem to be the boss of the finish. Earthy and stemmy. Would have preferred things be a little cleaner.
