  • PNP Deep red cherry aromas and flavors and some hints of black & blue fruit are interwoven with dark underbrush, tea and oriental spices. There are slight hints of smoke. Blind I would have leaned towards a modern style Gevrey (it would be fun to sneak this into a Burg tasting). This wine has evolved beautifully and is at prime drinking spot offering a medium palate of seamless fruit & savory flavors without any noticeable wood which is totally integrated. I liked it best within the first hr so would consume over the next few years . A real fine example of age worthy OR PN. Excellent QPR.

  • Dark but not opaque, and at 12 years old, has a sizeable ring of lighter red around rim of the glass. However, there is no oxidized taste in the smell or mouth. Instead, the wine has gotten considerably more elegant and integrated than when young, with rounded acidity and tannin. The fruit has evolved away from rich black cherry to a leaner red cherry and pomegranate. Will accelerate drinking up the remaining bottles.

  • Bottom 1/4th of cork soaked, and broke with the Screwpull. A medium ruby in the glass, extending out to clearing edges. Evocative nose of chocolate-covered cherries. Sappy and dense on the palate, with a touch of residual sugar. Some cedar joins on the finish, and this was very nice on its own.

  • Light ruby, garnet. Earthy nose, violets, ripe plum, cedar. Dry tannins, ripe fruit, cherries, plumbs, some bitter, acid, tannins. a little raw on the PnP, let's see what some air delivers. Red berry starting to show, balance starting getting good, some petrol, light tannins on the finish. With another night, marked improvement in balance and restrained fruit with good mouth feel and light tannins.

  • Opened in honor of Bob Wood who would have preferred I open an Ayres or Belle Pente Murto. But hell Bob I have the corkscrew and will open the others in due order!
Light ruby with bricking rim, candied cherry, cedar nose. Moderately dry with nice acid, light fruit and smooth tannins. opened and corked on the counter overnight. It was a bit too jammy and fruity on the PnP for me last night, and has settled down into lightly fruit forward, ripe cherry, plum with smooth tannins on the finish. Bright barry starting to show in the glass. Another night, really good acid, fruit and tannin balance. Lovely smooth mouthfeel. Even better on night three, bright red berry. I was told to drink '06 young as the fruit would fade into a flabby mess, this is very fresh and lively.
