  • Managed to save a couple of bottles and this one improved a lot with time. Wonderful depth in flavor.

  • Solid wine, which reminded me more of South America than syrah, per se. Flavors and aromas of fig and milk chocolate, with some dark berry accents, dark chocolate edges and hints of oak/campfire. Smooth creamy finish which I wish lasted a tad longer.

  • Purple to ruby in color, medium plus intensity. The nose is clean of medium intensity; showing sweet black and blue fruit and dark cocoa. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, with medium acidity, medium plus alcohol and medium plus tannins. The tannins are polished, and are only noticeable on the finish. Likewise, the 14.5% alcohol is not particularly noticeable, except as a source of heat on the finish. The palate is consistent with the nose, with flavors of blackberry, plum and a little liquorice on the finish. The body, flavor intensity and length are all medium to medium plus. This is drinking very well now and is likely to remain in a good place for several more years thanks to its balanced structure. It could be mistaken for an Oregon or Northern California Syrah. It has a lot more grace and polish than an Aussie or South African Shiraz, and ultimately reveals its French roots. A great value.

  • 2 hours decanted and we jumped in after fish dinner and white Rioja from Muga. lots of upfront heat and massive berry liquor but i also sensed an interesting black tea flavor permeating the finish. at first everyone reacted to the heat but after a few sips it seemed to fade and the silky fruit and finish came to the front. still has many years and should settle over time.
