Complex spectrum of ebony-amber-gold. Profound, perfumed bouquet of cashew, Brazil, macadamia, pecan, all the nuts imaginable, American oak, linoleum. Full bodied yet fresh on the palate, salty, acidic, wonderful nutty aromas. Unbeatable length on the finish. Nuts, sea salt, toasted bread. Goes on forever. One of the marvels of the wine world. Beats the competition hands down with the combination of both remarkable freshness and full tertiary maturity, a dichotomy the almacenista VORS don't usually possess. Great. Asombrante.
VORS. 50cl bottle, purchased in 2003, excellent cellarage since. Very interesting style, quite oxidative, sour butter, coffee and toasted nuts; good intensity and weight but relatively rounded, dry but seems softer than usual, attractive but not as precise as some; good length, buttery finish.
What is the best thing about this wine? Too much to be chossen: its ambar colour, its all-nuts aroma, its rotundity on the palate, its biterness, its long, very long aftertaste....a real VORS...All Sherry is about!
