Really nice. Interesting structure and flavors. Mix of new world and old world. Beautiful clear, ruby red color. Cherry nose. Good acidity and weight. A fresh, long finish. Decanted and drank over 3 hours. No sediment. Started to lose it's umph near the end though. Don't wait too long - drink now thru 2016.
This was a nice surprise...my palate has been trending toward old worls wines but this was a great reminder to only taste what's in the glass and don't judge the label. Classic Grenache profile. Holds the alcohol level well. Crisp finish. Glad to see that I have another bottle in my inventory.
Should a $45 bottle of Washington syrah blend remind me of a $20 California Pinot Noir? Well, this one did. Weird. Nice wine in texture and color but the flavors were not that bold (syrah) or fruity (grenace) and overall it just confused me. There was a light texture like a Pinot here and a smokey finish. A fine enough wine but the QPR is too high and neither grape shines through.
