I was impressed that this bottle had so much life left. Note of black raspberry, blueberry, vanilla, mint. Tannins were soft. Perhaps dry hay but not must or wet leaves. This wine was super enjoyable, and I wish I had more 2006 left. Drink now.

Bold and tannins still holding and gripping well. 7.5/10. Feels like 20 months of new French oak but I have no idea.
When unveiled (by comparison) when I have had this previously, it was too acidic and aggressive. (I.e. too young)
Light nose. Very light cassis. The 17 years has done this well. Beautifully balanced. Oaky with hints of bark and some good yet not overpowering acidity in the finish. Still full bodied.
Definitely a positive surprise.

Big, bold, beautiful. Drinking perfectly now, I could say a lot here but it would read like a textbook description of the structured opulence and sheer joyful energy of Napa cabernet sources from mountain fruit at its best. These wines are not inexpensive but very much worth the expense. Bravo!

Still finding firm tannins that call for a decant. Black cherry, bare hint of graphite. Can't believe e this is 15 years old. Ripe dark fruit dominates. Has another 5-10 years. Will need to procure more...

Last bottle of my 06' vintage. Tasting notes consistent with the last bottle I drank at Christmas 2020. Drink em if you got em.
Traditional big, black fruits are giving way to a much softer wine. Had I drank blind, I would have guessed it was a blend.
2 hours of air was fine prior to getting it into the lineup. Interestingly enough, the softer profile ended up being a crowd pleaser compared to some bigger and younger cabs.
100% Cabernet 95% Sacrashe Vineyard fruit: Rutherford AVA
Cheers!
