Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): Fully mature color. Complex fully mature nose displaying dry black fruit, subtle blackberry, dry cherry, dry fig, licorice, garrigue, smoked meat, balsamico, madeira, toffee, black truffle and rose. With air, coffee and dark milk chocolate emerge. Fully integrated palate, subtle black fruit, silky and fluid, bright acidity, subtle mineral, fully resolved tannins and a long subtle sweet black fruit driven finish. The nose constantly changes. Although very enjoyable, there is no reason to wait.

Four Decades of LaLa, plus a "sneaky" Saxum (Chez Kenny): Tasted blind among 13 wines, 11 of which were LaLas. Brown ruby and translucent -- clearly looks older. Medium nose of stems and sweet fruit. Palate has light body with mature meaty black fruit and balsamic notes. This shows a bit tired and lacks acid. Very cool glimpse into 40+ year old LaLa, and a birth year wine to boot! But over the hill. My #6, Group #6 in the flight.

Recalcitrant nose at first. Opens up to some blood iron, pepper and mushrooms. The palate is pretty special. Not an old wine in any way: plenty of sweetness left in a broad, long and seamlessly integrated package. Burgundian. Drink now.

Game night. Smokey, bacon and pepper aromatics. Liked the freshness. Mineral palate.

Wow wine on opening. Opened as it's Jon's birthyear. What a treat. Mocha, spice, coffee. Balanced. Still good fruit. 94 pts.
