Classic Lafon with almond, honey, caramel, and spice. It had a rich and powerful palate with enough vibrancy to keep it fresh and interesting. Drinking at peak.

FWSG tasting. 2 pours. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, gold colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of matchstick, integrated smoky toast oak, spice, green apples, baked apples, melons, ripe citrus lemon. Developed. On the palate, dry, rounded high acidity, medium alcohol, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of rounded honeyed nut, smoke, integrated oak cream, spice, baked apple tart, green apples and pears, melons, ripe citrus lemon. Long layered finish. Very good quality. Complex, weighty. But not as good as the 08 Lafon Charmes and Perriers. Time to drink.

Ripe and powerful apple with toasted almonds and some faint pineapple hints. Very rich, very concentrated, but with enough acidity for good freshness now. I wouldn't cellar this many more years, partly because it is so enjoyable now.

Fleshy orchard fruit with some toasted almond notes. Very rich start with lots of mineral notes on long finish. Very fresh, powerful and certainly very enjoyable.
