This had a deep, rich, fragrant bouquet of smoke, burnt wood, black cherry, cola, sassafras and spice aromas. The palate was rich, ripe and dry with flavors of burnt toast, black cherry, blackberry, cola and spice.
Super extracted and a layer of pruney/oxidized flavors. No other experience with Ken Wright/Shea, so I don't know if this is the way the wine should be (if so, meh), or a flawed nomacorc (damn plastic corks). Cellared well since release, so it's not a storage issue. Not great.
