Deep red on pouring. Dark blood red after 2 hour decant. Rarthy, musty funk on nose, in a good way. Black plums, earth, forest floor, mushrooms on palate. Medium body. Lingering taste between italian and Thai basil on finsih. Really nice with wood fired pizza and later salted dark chocolate.

Very closed upon open. Improved quite a bit after 2 hours. Mostly fruit and little bit of smokey nose. Medium finish. Pretty sure it's passed the peak.

(Barone Ricasoli Casalferro) Great nose right out of the gates big with a mixture of incense -like aromas, spicy well-integrated oak, dark cherries, mint and a floral lift. Well developed fruit flavors of dusty dark cherry fruit and barely noticeable tannins. This was ready to go and had a nice mouthfeel and a great finish. This wine was quite explosive in it's youth and has aged well even getting some elegance.

Nice bottle holding up very well after 24 years. Very balanced with medium body and finesse.

This is primarily merlot and it has aged well. Soft tannins and fruit still present with long Finnish. I was pleasantly surprised.
