My friends note summaries the experience well. Open immediately and great to see the evolution over three hours. Most attractive at the two hour mark where some RC chemical box / old pharmacy sents came into the mix which for me is tell tell RC. Like the 2000 LT, I find DRCś faster ready and more interesting in slightly weaker vintages. Great experience.

Off restaurant list. Celebrating friendship and a business closure with a fellow collector. Luckily there are restaurants where you find these gems at allocation prices. Right from the first whiff we knew that this was special. Haunting nose of whole cluster, underbrush, sweet spices, autumn leaves, dried flowers, red fruit, developed over the meal and went to new heights every time we went back to the glass. Sublime elegance, fills the palate, yet stays light. A truly memorable wine moment, sadly the World knows and hence the prices of DRC RC. PS: I had the La Tache 08 at the same restaurant a few years back and it was also a stunner, very similar, a bit more structure and volume. DRC really nailed this vintage.

Mind boggling nose of exotic dusty floral spice and licorice, fresh flowers and minerals. Silk balance in the mouth, with fresh crushed creamy berries, rhubarb, dried florals, rocks and dirt. So tasty and pleasing in the mouth that you never want to swallow it. Little tart and stems on the finish, showing that this will be even better as it ages out. Heaven sent...
