This is the second bottle of Patz & Hall that has been corked. The cork was good but it had that old gym bag smell and It tasted worse than it smelled. I usually open the bottles before I go to the restaurant to make sure they are good. I did not do so this time and the restaurant nearly charged me an additional corkage fee for opening this bottle that was bad even though I had them open another bottle in it's place. The bottles came from two different stores. It will be a long time before I try one again, but I will.

Positives: Medium+ toasted oak, toasted marshmallows, lemon, green apple, cinnamon, cloves and limestone. Medium+ body with good acidity, a fairly long length & the alcohol is well integrated.
Negatives: A touch too sour on the finish.
Drink now on its own but will pair better with crab Alfredo.
Tasted: 13 Jan 13
Score: 8.5/10, Value: 8/10, Total: 16.5/20
Out of 5 stars, I rated this wine: 3.5

It has been about a year since I last drank this wine. The component balance in this bottle is leaning more toward oak with less fruit, a change from my last bottle. The wine at present tastes more like a typical American reasonably heavy oaked Chardonnay. If you like that style the wine is fine, but since we prefer a more fruity, citrusy style, the wine is becoming less interesting.

Heavily oaked, but pretty good if you like that style.
