Dark, deep purple. Barnyard/animal nose with leather and hints of licorice that carried through the palate with cherry & kirsch. Med+ body. Made in a bigger style, but enough acidity to balance it. Drinking well now with good years ahead of it. A testament to the strength of the '01 vintage in the rhone.
Red fruits, earth, spiciness, leather, wet forest and a touch of barnyard in the bouquet. Same on the palate. Cherries and dark forest fruits, garrigue, vanilla, almonds, licorice, chocolate, beautiful fresh acidity and soft tannin with still a nice bite. Beautiful wine that never disappoints. Ready now and still a few years ahead.
