  • Some tasters were not so enthusiastic about this wine at this evening, but I liked it.

    Red-brown color (brick stone).
Lovely nose with tobacco , leather, gun powder, ham, balanced.
Palate again with gun powder, nice acid, raw rose hip, smoked meat, dark, dark...

Part of the 11 Einhoerner (unicorns) tasting at MWC

  • This suffered in comparison to the Domaine de Chevalier, starting out musty, not really like corkiness but more like a used-book shop. It tasted fine though, with a characteristic Graves smokiness that turned into a vivid mesquite flavor as it aired out, which really seemed to help it compose itself and shake off some of the dust. This was very different in style from the Chevalier though, thicker in its material, without the same sense of ethereality.
