2007 Saxon Brown Syrah Horizontal (Woodbury, MN): Bottle opened 2 hrs before dinner. Horizontal tasting with the Parmelee-Hill Camp Block and Owl Box bottlings. Bright cherries on the nose, with a little floral essence and some subtle meatiness. Medium in body with a lighter touch of oak. Great acidity. Definitely the most food friendly of the three. Very well done.
Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Syrah glass at 65°F.

What a tasty wine! Notes of blackberry, cherry liqueur, meat, smoke and chocolate. We had this with Mamoun's tika lamb and shwarma and it was a tasty pairing - especially with the lamb tikka. Drink now. Great QPR at our $25 purchase price. Saved for Sue from Virginia

This was a wonderful bottle of wine! I decanted it, gave it an hour of air, and it drank beautifully. It was not "old" as Parker predicted it would be when he tasted it 5 years ago. Full of intense dark fruit, deep red in color, no orange, no oxidation. Perhaps it is peaking now, but it has a few years left. I am glad I have one bottle left.
